Default Small Block / Big Block Gauges??

On flea bay there is a 65 coupe (listing # 250251604403) that the dealer maintains is a 327 / 300 hp original matching #s and not a restamp. How did it end up with a high horse tach and 80 lb oil pressure gauge. Isn't this what a 327 / 365 hp would have been equipped with? Do you think maybe the car has been put together with parts from other cars? No one would restamp a lower hp engine to match a car, at least no one in their right mind. Has anyone ever seen this car?

I do believe you are correct.

It's a 43 year old car. I imagine either the Trip Odometer, or the Speedo broke at one point in the car's past and the most cost-effective repair was to replace the original cluster with one from a salvage yard.

Do you think maybe the car has been put together with parts from other cars?
Not based only on the cluster.

Cluster also has a 1967 temp gauge.
Trim tag looks legitimate, shows Rally Red, but STD black vinyl, not leather. Visual clues on car indicate a St. Louis body, as seen on trim tag, so sidepipes MIGHT be original.
In one part of ad, seller states "matching numbers" and elsewhere, he states "original engine". The only way to determine "original engine" is with a high res photo of the stamp pad.

Would have been nice if they'd have painted the inner upper half of the door black (as it was originally) so you don't see a ring of red from the inside against the black interior.

I've never come across this before, does anyone have pics of the proper way to finish the door area?

Photo below shows the correct painting of the inner upper portion of the coupe door when the interior and exterior are different colors. When done correctly, all you see inside the car with the door closed is the interior color.

Much appreciated, not sure if the Judging Manual had covered this topic - will check later this evening.

well, that MIGHT have been a 65 365 hp or 425 hp cluster but for the temp gauge, which is 66 and up
