How can you say that? That is only your opinion right? It wouldn't be worth less to me. Everyone knows that something is only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it.
I happen to be one that would rather have a different color paint job that was nice than an original color that needs to be redone. Again, that's just me (even though I am sure I'm not alone).

If you have the car appraised for $20K, but your friend loves the car and color and offers $30K, goes to the bank to get the money, and meanwhile the car is stolen, your insurance is only going to give you the $20K (if you're lucky).
If you have a custom car and didn't have it appraised..., good luck!
BTW, I also have a non-stock '64 with several mods and custom paint and much prefer it to the stock version, but I do have an certified appraisal of $60K on it.
