Default '62 electrical dash harness

Does anyone have a source for an electrical dash harness without paying the "corvette tax" , better than the catalog prices at $350 - $400 per? Experienced a melt down the other day because of a bad generator and/or voltage regulator and need to find a reasonable source for replacement wiring. Thanks bwork

Nope - that's what they cost, unless you want to make one yourself.

There are only a handful of companies who make correct reproduction harnesses. I doubt that a harness for a Corvette would cost more than say a harness of equal complexity for a Mopar...

I bet you are glad you found the problem. I went the whole new wiring harness route. Yes, I am not sure how the judges will look at the M&H harness, but at least I still have a car that didn't go up in smoke. I am going to add a few fuses to some of the items to protect the harness/car.

Check with Lectric Limited or Painless or Ron Francis....

I installed a fuseable link at the starter when I changed my harness.
This will protect everything under the dash plus.

Thanks for the info, noticed in the Corvette Central catalog they note that the replacement/upgrade is for a 55-56 passenger car.. I do plan on putting a fuse link in so this can not happen again and in adition, since I am notgoing for show car, I intend to put a current alternator and volt meter in which does away with the direct load to the ammeter and voltage regulator.
