How many quarts of gear oil do I need? I read the old post about adding two bottles of GM additive.

GM additive comes in a tiny little bottle, maybe twice the size of Visine. One of these is enough to treat the Auburn posi in my Suburban.

Sorry, my question may not have been clear. I read that the additive is small (4oz). My question is the amount of gear oil for a C2.

I believe the differential capacity is about 3.7 pts. First put 2 pts of 75w-90 GL5 gear lube and the additive. Fill the differential with remaining 75w-90 to 1/4 " below of the fill hole.

OR

I would first put in two bottles of additive and then fill with gear to just below the fill hole. Don't forget to go find a empty parking lot and practice some hard figure 8's.

I used Royal Purple, it has the additives already it in. 2 qt's fills it up with a little left over. I have a Dana 44 rear in mine. Tim
