Default Windshield

I am in the process of installing a new windshield in my 65 Conv. I have picked up some great help in this forum. I have two questions: 1) the window weld sealant 3M 8633 that goes between the glass and the rubber is no longer available. Does anyone know of a substitute? 2) there is a seam at the bottom of the windshield where the birdgage is attached to a bonding strip (I think?) and the cowl fiberglas. This seam looks like it is filled with some sort of paintable caulking. I need to replace some that has dried and fallen out. Any suggestions on what to use?

Thanks for your help.

Bill

3M #08509 Automotive Bedding & Glazing Compound is a good substitute for the original sealer used between the glass and rubber and between the rubber and the body opening.

Any current vinyl plastisol body seam sealer (3M has many) will work to re-caulk at the rear edge of the surround/bonding strip/birdcage joint.
