I've purchased a wiper motor from Newport Engineering installed very easily.... And I'm quite pleased with it...

However because of the bulkiness of wiper switch, I could not place it in it's original location. So I opted to install it in the cigarette lighter location...



However Newport does sell a switch shaft extension which allows you to install the wiper switch in the original location but they are asking what is the diameter of the original rod for the original switch button. This will allow you to re-use the original switch button...(which I don't have but plan on getting)...

Does anyone know the diameter of this rod?

Now all I need is a new wiper transmission for the drivers side and I can once again drive in the rain....

Not exactly which shaft dimension you need, but here are some measurements from a '59 switch.
