I understand in 1966 and 1967 high performance Bib Blocks ie L72 and L71 427 Corvettes used the heaver 7/16th bolt connecting rods. Where these 7/16" BIG BLOCK CHEVY DIMPLE RODS or where the dimple rods reserved for the 67 and beyond L88's?
I believe they had 3/8" dimple rods. 396/375's had them too. L-88's were the first 7/16" ones. And they had dimples too.
The 3/8" dimples were better than regular 3/8"...but the 7/16" ones are killer!

with you again,
I might add that the L71`s, L72`s, and L89`s were all 3/8 rod bolt engines with press fit pins. The L88`s had both 3/8 early and 7/16 and were full floating rods that were also flash chromed on the pin end.. I believe the ZL1 was only 7/16 because of the later introduction and all are 427`s
Two other engines that were built with 7/16 bolts but were not full floating pins is the 1970 LS6 454 Chevelle engine and the 600 HP over the counter LS7 454.
