Default Custom Head Gaskets-

Just wanted to point out this place if you need nice custom gaskets. I had to order .074 thick head gaskets and Cometic made some for me in 3 days. They are multi-layered steel and worked out perfect.
Most people are not in my situation and can use standard fel-pro or other gaskets, but just incase i thought i would share.

Sounds likea practical, inexpensive way to compensate for a block deck that has been milled too much.

Those gaskets won't ever leak, either , if you torque them to spec.

Sounds like you found a gasket to fit your application. However I'm curious about how these may work out for you. I know that you haven't really cared for me to get involved in the past but I'm trying to look out for you. With these type of head gaskets it's really important that the mating surface be extremely smooth.

I'm not sure if the standard machine shop block decking creates the smooth surface needed for the Cometic gaskets. On their website they recommend a RA of 50 or better or that you will most likely have a failure.

from FAQ Cometic.com
What surface finish is required to us an MLS head gasket?
A surface finish of 50 RA (roughness average) or finer, is recommended for a proper gasket seal. Anything rougher may conflict with the gasket design.
Just something to think about, you may have found the solution but the devil is in the details..
