Default Ragged out steering joint

Can anyone shine some light on how the rag joints come out of the steering column? Working on one that is aged and painted over enough that it seems immoveable. Taking the two bolts out was easy enough, but how do the riveted stud come out? The 12 point lockbolt looks to be nearly rounded off, also adding to the adventure.

Remove the bolt locking it to the steering column shaft, remove the column mounting bolts under the dash & the bolt on the firewall bracket, then pull the column back to release the shaft from the rag joint. Remove the 12-point locking bolt from the front of the rag-joint and pry it loose from the steering box. Package it up and send it to Tom at Corvette Steering for a rebuild. He does a perfect job restoring rag-joints correctly and safely.
