To those planning on attending this event, can you tell me if you plan on driving your Vintage Vette to the races? Or would it just be one more thing to worry about (leaving it parked all day / 3 days?)

------If all goes well Jans 66 will be there,all over the place.Its Laguna Blue,and has had the tag"LAGUNA"for 22 years in three different states.
Its been a dream of ours to have a picture of it by the Laguna Seca sign
and we are really looking forward to the whole month of August in California.
We will even miss the Woodward cruise for the very first time................Bill S

Have you been in the past? (I have not)
Is the Laurel in the place to stay? (close/safe parking?)
I guess I will drive up, just wanted to make sure my car wouldn't turn into
ball and chain for 3 days. (My better 1/2 will already be with me;) )
You know, leaving the car in a parking lot and worrying about it all day.
It won't be the most valuable car there, but I have grown quite fond of it.:D
and was curious if there was a good spot to leave it parked
at the hotel as well as the races.
Call me a worry wart. :confused: but a bit of prevention never hurts.

Laurel Inn is in Salinas - about 20-25 miles away but very near the right road to Laguna Seca. It was recommended to me by Noland Adams and will be the "host" hotel (I think) for the SACC (Straight Axle Corvette Club) convention which is sandwiched between the NCRS convention and the Historic Races. Prices were not cheap but about $50/night less than the NCRS host hotel. You can get the info from the SACC website: www.solidaxle.org

Hurray! Looks like we will be driving down as well. Wife said she would love to go! So where are the good places to stay? Where is the Laurel Inn, and does anyone know what the rates are? Looking forward to meeting a lot of the forum members down there. We'll definitely be drinving the Vette down. I'm a :) boy :yesnod: :cheers:

Better not procrastinate on the room situation if you are planning to go to Monterey. There is a NCRS national convention, a Solid Axle Corvette Club national convention, the Corvette 50th anniversary (huge!!) Convention, plus the Historics, and Pebble Beach, all in the same week!!! Gonna have sensory overload on this one. Just made reservations at the Laurel Inn which is the host hotel for the Straight Axle Corvette Club Convention. They said things are filling up fast. So this is no time to :sleep: :yesnod:
