I am finishing up the install of the trailing arms, driver side in, passenger side ready to go.
On the driver side, the shims I pulled out were fairly equal, but on the passenger side, they are all on the inside of the trailing arm.
For time sake, I am going to have the car aligned by a shop. On reassembly, should I leave the shims as they were with all on one side, or should I even out the distribution before going to the alignment shop(who may just move them all back)?
Searched the archives because I thought I saw this before, but couldnt find the thread.
If the alignment looked right before you took it apart I would put the shims back the way I found them. You just need it tight to get to the alignment shop
To get close to the ballpark, use a straight 2x4 10' long, laid on edge on the back tire and make sure that both sides of the car are relatively parallel and spaced relatively even with the front tires with the weight on wheels.
