Had a post awhile back on my brakes(drum). Car was pulling to the left when braking. Checked tire pressure/adjusted the brakes but same thing. Decided to replace the hoses and the cylinders. Did that and bled the lines. Went for the test drive and left side locked-up hard when brakes were applied. After a couple of times of applying the brakes(and holding on to the steering wheel) it seemed normal when braking. Car stopped without pulling to the left or right When I went to take the car out for a drive it's been doing it again. When I apply the brake it pulls hard to the left. I do this a couple of times (apply the brake when moving) and it goes back to normal braking no problems. Any suggestions on this matter? Thanks
brakes that are adjusted too tight will pull, then they get hot and pull less.
just for the sake of diagnosis, try swapping the shoes only from right to left and see if it follows the shoes or if it's a hydraulics problem.

If I have them off again should I just go ahead and replace the shoes? The shoes didn't look that bad when I replaced the cylinder's so I left them alone.
Having just gone through this exercise I will tell you what I found.
I tried replacing all the wheel cylinders, but that didn't help. Then I took the drums in to have checked. 3 out of the 4 were fine, but one was out of round and that was the problem.
I had the 2 rear drums cut and the car now stops straight.

i would try swapping sides first. then you'll know. i've seen it happen before.

Ok, did the swap of the shoes this morning. Was pulling to the left when cold, and then back to normal after a few minutes of driving. After I did the swap the vehicle now pulls to the right when cold. Would this be a shoe problem? Thats the only thing I changed.
i would say yes. the shoes could be contaminated or if they were relined shoes, the material may be different between the two sets. it actually could be a problem with the shoes that aren't grabbing. they are just "different" than the other side.
get a premium brand shoe. new- not relined. Wagner works for me.
also be sure you have them installed correctly. the primary (front half) have less lining material than the secondary (rear half) at each wheel.

Just to make sure, the lesser of the lining would go to the front. With the most to the rear. Is this correct.

You did not mention if you had all the drums turned or not. An out of round drum will pull. It will also give you an uneven brake adjustment at the offending wheel. Check the drums. Pilot Dan
