Rehab of Teakwood Steering Wheel
My wife and I are restoring our (original owners) 1966 SBC Convertible. It is time we pay particular attention to the Steering Wheel. The wood is not scrateched or broken. There are no breaks in the wood. The finish has worn off and needs to be restained and varnished.
Any suggestions/recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Specifically, what stain (brand and tint) would return the wheel to like new look ?
Any and all help would be sincerely appreciated.

The original wood wheels were made by the Howard Miller Clock company in Zeeland, Michigan, and didn't use any stain; they were made from blends of teak and rosewood, and after finish sanding they got three coats of a catalyzed urethane sealer, with a final topcoat of clear urethane varnish.
