Hey guys,
My outside vent window hinge is broken in half. Can the hinge be welded back together, or do I have to replace the entire vent window?
Also, can it be fixed on the car or does it need to be taken out? Thanks,
Randy

I've got the same problem on my car. I'm going to try one of the new high strength epoxies, and if that doesn't work I'll fire up the tig welder with a .040 tungsten. The hinge appears to be stainless steel.
Any other ideas ?
The glass needs to be removed and it can be tig welded (I did that to mine). The other option is a replacement pin can be purchased (ie LICs) and spot welded onto the frame. The pin is a pretty good match too.
J-B Weld in a tube(s) worked for me. Took me a couple of tries, but it has held for over a year now and window swivels just fine. Getting the clamps to hold it all together and the pin thing lined up on the frame was the tough part.
My Pass side is separated at the weld. We are dis-assm'g glass and gasket, then spot welding for the repair. I battled the epoxy thing for years, and finley decided to fix it once and for all.
My wife is tired of me telling her she can't open the window!!
