I need a new balancer; the original 6" balancer on my NOM 63 327/300 met an unfortunate demise. Can I upgrade to a later model 8" balancer? I have access to a virtually new balancer off of a 1979 HD truck 350.
I know that I would need a new timing tab (timing cover is chrome with bolt-on tab, no problem). Any other conflicts (pulleys, timing mark, etc)?
Ken; If all of your pulleys and brackets are stock; alt, h2o pump, crank; I suggest you have your original 6 inch rebuilt. This will keep alighnment and belt length correct/easy to maintain.
I have a recomendation if you need one. I also have a spare 6 inch with a hammered on center that could be machined flat and rebuilt if you need it.

You may want to check with Damper Dudes in CA. I know they have an extensive inventory of balancers. They also do a great job of rebuilding the them. PM me if you can't find them through Google. Jerry
