Default Clutch Replacement Tips?

I am about to replace the clutch in my 63 due to a bad throw-out bearing. I have purchased the complete clutch kit. Any tips? The Chilton manual says to remove the exhaust pipes. Is this necessary? It looks like there is enough clearence between them to get things in and out.

Thanks

It's much easier to replace the Clutch by pulling the engine. Remove the Hood and unbolt the engine from the Bellhousing. Disconnect the Starter wires, Coil, Alternator, unbolt the Header pipes, Disconnect the Clutch Bellcrank and remove the Engine Mount bolts. Support the Bellhousing as you pull engine forward to disengage from Bellhousing. I find this easier than laying on my back dealing with Exhaust, Trans Linkage etc. Also, I always match up the Clutch and Throw out Bearing to the existing one after removal. Al W.
