Forget about the 5k in interior work needed.
And 10k in paint & body
What will it end up going for?
We all know what its worth.....
Just curious........ :jester
I can't believe someone bid $15,600 for this thing and the reserve still has not been met! Its a mess and that is just from what can be seen in the photos.

Re: E-BAY 65 POS (396 RAT)
Curtis was right in the other thread. If the lazy seller would have washed it and preped it for a pic the Ebayers would go nuts  Something like this should be only a few thousand and sold to a kid who will love it. Even though it will be a money pit.
Yeah, one or more of his friends are helping him by placing bids to make it look like people are really interested. That is my guess. I can see a few people that don't know any better, but I don't think 16 real bids have been bid.
I think Curtis is right. Those bids seem bogus, because anybody who could actually put together $15k would HAVE to know that there are other Mid-Years out there that are much better values. Even on this forum, in the Cars for Sale section is a guy selling a good-looking supercharged '66 for only $17k!
I'm tempted to bid $15,700, then wait to get outbid by one of this guy's buddies. Then after bidding closes, I'll bet I'd get a phone call telling me how lucky I am because the winning bidder couldn't come up with the cash, so now I get to be the lucky buyer!
I agree totally, no one in there right mind would bid this up the 15K. Maybe if it would have been a matching BB but that's the only way. I can see putting 30K in it and it still won't be a matching car. Carlisle had cheaper hoods.
I like where they say it has been started occasionally. yeah you can really tell that by the leaves packed in the engine compartment. why even bother with that statement when you can tell it's a bunch of bull. I feel sorry for the guy who buys that. :U
I must say that I'm impressed with the pre-sale preparation that has gone into this vette.
I must say though that there are many that would not be put off by the pending project and I in fact restored a Mustang a few years back that was in similar condition but at least I bought it at a reasonable price which allowed for the required input of restoration dollars but looking at the price allready bid, someone is going to have a very high investment by the time they're done.
The only person bidding $15,600 for that thing is the person who has it now and is trying to get someone who knows nothing about restoring a car to buy it.
He figures that the only person buying this baby is someone who requires a massive challenge....something he can brag about when the restoration is finished.
You know.......here is what it was.......look at it now!

This car is not going to sell.
The seller had his bud's place high priced bids just under the
reserve.:bs At $15,600 the reserve is not yet met.!!!
His reserve is no doubt $15,700.00 or so.
Its going to be a "no sale".
For all I care that thing can rott into dust. :U
I think those bidders are legit and will bid it a little higher at the end. Personally, I hope a restorer saves it from being rendered into parts.
Look at the guy that has high bid, in his feed back it shows that he is selling corvettes piece by piece. This car is going to parted out on ebay, he will probably double or triple his money on it.
