"The engine assembly date and suffex identification codes will appear on the inboard side of the pad, close to the water pump. The code format is VMMDDXX where "V" represents the Flint V-8 Engine Plant, MM represents the month ("01" through "12" for January through December), DD is the day of the month ("01" through "31"), and XX is the engine type identification suffex code. Example: V0428HT= "V" represents the Flint Engine Plant; "0428" is April 28; and the HT stands for a 1967 Corvette L79 350 hp engine with 4-speed transmission. The only acceptable engine assembly plant code is "V".
The engine type identification code for the 327/300 Base with Holley Carb. Hyd lifters and manual transmission is: HE.
The code for 327/300 Base with Holley carb, Hyd lifters, manual transmission and A.I.R. is: HH
With the build date of B15 that means your Corvette was built on September 15. The build date codes are:
A=August 1966
B=September 1966
C=October 1966
D=November 1966
E=December 1966
F=January 1967
and so on until L=July 1967
Using this system (if I didn't screw something up) your engine code # should be:V0915HE
Unless your Corvette has A.I.R. then it is: V0915HH
If I screwed it up hopefully someone will chime in.

When reading the stamp pad from the front of the car the first set of numbers will be the VIN sequence followed by the assembly stamping.
The assembly stamping I gave in the other post is wrong. The date you gave B15 is off the vehicle identification number pad. The engine assembly date would precede B15 (Sepember 15) body build date.
The engine casting date is found on the right side of the distributor on the bellhousing mounting flange. The engine casting date must precede the engine assembly date. The casting date must precede the vehicle assemble date by less than six months. The casting date is an alpha-numeric code with the format MDDY where M is month ("A" for January, "B" for February and so on). DD is the day of the month ("1" through "31") and Y is calender year ("6" for 1966, "7" for 1967). Example would be: F27 = June 2,1967.
Now that you are totally confused it's time to go get another 12 pack!!

P.S. Correct me if it's wrong because I do make mistakes (Just ask my wife).
The casting number (3892657) 5thVet was talking about can be found at the rear of the block on the left bellhousing mounting flange.
its an A O Smith , casting 3858174 , body build b15 . So I'm thinking a engine code of I 7 5 would be Sept 7th of 65 right ? That would be in the right time frame I think.
