Just looked at my profile on the new system and it says I am not able to post attachments. Not that I want to but why would I be excluded from be able to post an attachment if I wanted to? Anybody else excluded in this way?

I believe true Attachments were only available for paid supporting members.
However that doesn't mean you can't put your photos on Tinypic or Photobucket, and just link them into your posts with the IMG tag.

yep, been like that since I joined here in '04.
If I need to post a pic up I just throw it onto my website's server and link off it from there.
I'm not a paid member so have never had attachment privileges.

With the server changes they now allow anyone to host up to 60 pictures.And they load right away, not like with the old system where they had to be approved.
Go to "User CP"..( top left of the screen in the red bar ).
5th line down.."Pictures and albums"
You can load pictures directly from your computer. I don't know if you can post thumbnails or how you link to them.

for anybody who knows:
where do your selected pics go when you upload them, i assume into the album i opened??
if so, how do you get your pics from your album into one of your posts??
sorry i just don't get the whole photobucket IMG deal, but i already am ready to upload into ?? my album?? so if a moron can move them from the album to a post, i'm your man...

Well, I created an album but kept getting exceptions when done trying to upload. Guess maybe my files are too big? 3.5 to 4.0MB each. I thought they would downsize but maybe they need to be downsized by me? That is why I like Photobucket, it does the downsizing automatically!
