Well guys, I was finally able to get the W/S sealed up in the coupe. Only took 29 years and removal of the W/S 7 times. Used 3M 08509 and 3M 08609 to seal both the body to rubber and rubber to W/S.
Not sure if anyone wants to know how I did it but will try to explain. I purchased a new rubber from Corvette Rubber. I filled the channel for the rubber to body with 3M 08509. I then laid the W/S in the opening and used a KD tool to pull the rubber gasket in from the inside.
Here's photo of tool used. It is a Cotter Pin remover (large). I ground off the sharp point so it would not dig into the rubber.

I water tested the W/S at this point and had 3 small leaks. I pulled the rubber seal back inside the car with the tool and laid in a little 3M 08509 and the leaks between the body and rubber were gone. However the W/S to rubber still had a couple of small leaks.
I taped off the W/S at the glass edge of the rubber and then pulled the rubber back and laid a small bead of 3M 08609 in the channel above the glass.

I rolled the rubber with a rachet and socket to try to get it down fully but it stayed up in both pillar areas. Not bad but noticeable. I let that cure for 24 hours and water tested it this AM. I am 99.9% dry. I have one small leak, just a drip every once in a while that I think is coming from one of the screws that hold the retaining clips for the moulding. I still consider it a sucess as I used to get buckets of water in prior to this.

Good job Steve! Very satisfying repair to accomplish and get a truly watertight windshield. Did you have any problems reinstalling the windshield moldings? Even with new clips all around that was the worst part of the job when I did mine. Thanks for sharing your experience with us.

Funny you should ask. I just finished putting the exterior ones on today. Did they ever produce one of these mouldings that weren't bent from the factory. I checked all of my moulding to get a sense of how they should go on. I found that both the lower ones are bent, they won't snap in place near the turn at the lower portion of the W/S and the upper corners were both bent. Not sure if I did it when I took them off but they really never have fit right. Since they are all bent up now and dinged, I'll wait to get new ones and install them correctly.

Interior ones won't go on until I spray them the correct color.
. I did not check to see how much it might cost to get the original moldings restored vs. buying the repos. at $138 per side. I would be interested to hear from some others who have dealt with that.

On my coupe rubber the channel for the glass is a little deeper than I liked and it caused the W/S to leak in a couple of spots. I lifted the rubber up and laid the 08609 above the glass in the channel. It's messy and it takes some time to do it but it did seal it.
I see you used the 08509 to seal the glass to rubber also. That stuff is so hard to move that I didn't want to use it to seal the glass to the rubber like you did. Harder stuff to get off also. I'll have to clean up the inside of the car before I put the interior mouldings back in.

Nice job. This is something that I also wanted to do. Did you use all new clips? I just had a new rubber installed and had all the clips replaced. I am curious if I have to replace them again. Also, did you have and problems with nicking the paint? I don't understand why you had to seal the rubber to the glass. It seems like there would be no need for this.
