Default #'s help please?

Hi. Can you guys help me with some #'s on a 58 vette? vin # ends in 05516; motor, pass side frt pad is F0508D, dr. side rr is 3849852, pass. rear is E64; heads say 3795896, also E54. 4 spd trans says T10-1B, WG DIV, W-1, also T10K-1, then D1856. Rear looks like H096 on top of 3725899, GM. Have 9 pics, didnt want to take up a lot of space. They're on photobucket. (Newbie, so please 4give if there's any problems with this.) Thanks.

Block and head casting numbers info: http://www.mortec.com/

3849852 block is/was 283" used '57-'66

My best guess on date is May 6 1964

3795896 head is/was 327" used '62-'64 .....60 cc chamber

Guess on date for heads................May 5 1964

Vin number will not be on a '58 vet block. That didn't start untill about 1960.

Back in the day it was S.O.P. to buy a low milage engine from a wreck to replace the worn out/blown engine in a vet.

F0508D is a 283/195hp built on May 8, 1964, out of a 1964 full-size car with a 2-barrel and Powerglide. The T10-1B main case was used from late '59 thru early '61. Axle center section is a non-Posi out of a very early '57.
