Is there some sort of a kit that is available at auto parts stores that will tell you if you have exhaust gases or other contaminants in the coolant? I am hoping that I can find something that will tell me if I have a bad head gasket or not. My engine is not "making" oil, level stays good all the time and no milkshake in there either.
Anyone ever used or heard of something along these lines?
Thanks, thats what I am looking for. That will work perfectly.
Where can I purchase one at?
Do you think Napa or Carquest would have one? All I have near me are the usual O'reillys, Auto Zone and Advance auto parts stores. I have to drive to Winston-Salem to go to Napa and Carquest.
Steven, I got my kit many years ago from a local old-time auto parts store but have seen the replacement fluid being sold at the NAPA store as well so they must carry the kits also. Here's the link to the company that makes the kits, I suppose you could just mail order from them. http://www.blockchek.com/kits.htm'
Also, I looked on Fleabay and someone in Florida has a new kit for sale as well. Something around $35, give or take.
Good luck.
