I have an swc with an AM wonderbar that I'd like to use with an Ipod. The radio needs repair and I want to install the Ipod during the remove and replace cycle. I have looked at the option on rediscoverradio.com. Any other suggestions?
I would shy away from a device that sends signal to radio. I had my radio upgraded by Electro tech. If you don't want to go that route, you could buy a hardwire set up from Crutchfield. i canno locate the one I bought for an old truck but it seems to be a pretty good setup.
I requires hooking in to the back of the radio and running a hot wire to it. That is far superior to a modulator.
the best sound comes from using the line out, rather than the headphone jack. The line out comes out of the docking station plug. You need a cable that will give you the line out cable and then plug ito your aux input, assuming you have an aftermarket radio w/ these jacks.
I use on my repro wonderbar and sounds great.
You have to get a cable specific for your ipod model as apple changed the pinouts for some reason. I found this out when cable for ipod mini would not work w/ iphone. I ordered this adaptor today. http://www.amazon.com/Kensington-Liq...9611931&sr=8-2

David is correct. I ran mine for a year on the headphone jack and any time a song went really soft, the tuner lost signal and would blank out on me. I got the correct line out plug and now it works perfectly. When you get the line plug make sure and get the cheaper ones that DON'T transfer control of the Ipod to the radio unit, that way you can just pick up the Ipod and use it as the tuner. I love mine, thousands of songs at the touch of a finger!!!
