Check your local Border's bookstore for a book titled (I think) "Original Corvette 1963 to 1967". I perused it a couple of weeks back and noted some nice chassis photos in it.
Another is "Corvette Restoration - State of the Art" by Michael Antonick, but I don't know if it's still in print.
If you're looking for a book that systematically walks you through all the original markings, with color photos, I don't think such a book exists. Closest to that is "Corvette Chassis Restoration" by Joseph Tripoli, but it's photos are B&W.
