New guy, first post, need help.I've done this before with nooo problem, but somethings wrong.
I put all new brake calipers, rotors, pads, bearings, had the hub and rotors
trued and when I installed them, the inside pads are tight against the caliper[tight ,rotors drag]. Ideas?
Welcome to the Forum. It's a never ending source of experience and wisdom.
It sounds like your car is a mid-year 65-67, and your dealing with the front. Why would you have a new rotor trued? If you had the hub face trued you have effectively removed metal which moves the rotor inboard and that, I would think will pinch/squeeze the pads tight and create the added drag you describe. Another thought, are you sure you have the correct races and bearing? What is the source of your parts, offshore or US? I look forward to others thoughts on this. Dennis

There are front and rear rotors. You have fronts and rears mixed.
I had a bad hub so I had I had a local covette shop check them, rivet new rotors on the front and make sure they were "true". Rotors are US as are all parts, stainless calipers.
What's the difference between front and rear rotors? Someone wrote on these in grease pen "65-82" front and rear with the price[89.95]
I took the pads out and checked the runout, its about .003
Thanks for the help.

The thickness of the flange is different. This creates an offset that makes it impossible to interchange the two. The offshore replacements may be marked as both, but getting them to work is another matter. You sometimes can cut enough off of the rotor to make them work.
If it's on the front one other possibility is a bent spindle. I experienced that in rebuilding my car and couldn't get new pads on with new rotors. Started looking at things closely and realized the spindle was bent placing the brake caliper off-center over the rotor. Another spindle and everything went together fine. It wasn't an issue before with old worn pads and rotors.
