Default Starter Bracket

I checked the Assembly manual section 6, but I can't quite figure out where the starter bracket attaches..... Does it attach with the same bolt that attaches the clean air tube and lower ignition shield?? Also, why did the bracket come with a small screw and a screw hole in the bracket??? Thanks for any help.....

When I replaced my missing bracket on my 66 SB, the bottom attached to the threaded stud on the starter, the top bolted to a hole in the block…. as I recall. The screw is to hold the heat shield.

The only hole in my block that is near where the starter bracket lines up, is for the bolt that holds the clean air tube and lower spark plug wire shield......does the starter bracket connect to this same bolt ???

The starter brace attaches to a raised boss on the block that has a 5/16"-18 tapped hole in it, for a 1/2"-long bolt (photo below). The tab on the choke clean air tube attaches common with the spark plug heat shield screw (1/4"-20); see your Assembly Manual, UPC 6, sheet C2 for the choke clean air tube, sheet B1 for the starter brace and heat shield.
