Default tpi linkage

Those of you who have installed tpi, could you share your throttle hook up ideas? Cable from the bell crank or to the petal. How was the petal connected if you went that way? Anything available aftermarket wise for this? Thanks for any advice.

There is more than one way to skin this cat.

Silverslash Streak maintained stock accelerator pedal and linkage. Jeff shortened a stock TPI cable and casing and adapted it to the throttle bar in the engine compartment.

I utilized a stock C4 cable and accelerator pedal assembly in my 63.

There are probably other options also.

I used the Lokar TPI throttle bracket (on the plenum) and universal cable on my '60. I modified an '87 Camaro gas pedal and mounted it on the bracket to which the original pedal was mounted. That way I needed to drill only one hole in the firewall for the cable.

I used the stock bell crank and gas pedal. I had to bend the bell crank toward the middle of the car about 1 inch so I could run the throttle cable inside the tubes for a cleaner look. I found a stock cable from a camaro and used the stock front of the cable and cut the rear of the cable off and found a small turn buckle and heim joint at the hardware store and attached the end of the cable in the turn buckle by drilling a small hole in the turn buckle and put a set screw to hold the cable. I made the center bracket so the cable would stay put and give full range of the throttle.

Here a couple pictures that should help.

Here are a couple of pictures of the throttle linkage on my '62. The Ram Jet engine places the throttle linkage on the passenger side of the engine so I extended the stock throttle rod to the right side and added a bellcrank. The short cable is from Lokar.
