Well, I did the frame a couple nights ago.. most of that is. I still have to remove some pieces and paint them properly. I also did the engine compartment today. The Krylon is A LOT more difficult to use than SEM. I found SEM to be idiot proof.. The compartment came out ok, but there were a lot of areas I wasn't 100% happy with. Still looks better than it did before.
I feel like an idiot...I only had the first pic on my screen, and I was trying to figure out how bad the bay was before if this was so much better...then I scrolled down and the light came on.
Looks awesome. This is on my list of things to do (when I have a good reason for removing the engine).
Looking good.. Now it's time to get rid of that rubber fuel line after the pump..
Dave
I thought that dirty POS added character.. seriously... I thought that was stock? I was going to replace it, but replacemetn part is rubber according to paragon....

Seriously though... their "fuel line to pump kit" was a piece of rubber.. is that not stock? I thought it was steel line, rubber line, fuel pump, steel line, carb?

There is normally a rubber line that bridges the main steel fuel line, to the fuel pump. The rubber isolates the fuel line from engine movement.
However your photos appear to show a rubber line coming from the fuel pump to the fuel filter. This is not stock.
1965 high horse cars do have a rubber line from the fuel filter to the carb

Yes.. the rubber line from the pump will be gone.. the steel pump to carb one is on order.. I thougt y'all were talking about the rubber line from the steel line to the pump...
Looks nice.
Here is the name of the product I used on my 63. PCL, by Pacific Coast Lacquer. PCL Flat black, #2703 and catalyst #2798. When the catalyst is addded the end result is a satin/semi gloss finish.
Nice before and after pics. What a difference. .. Mine looked similar. .. The suspension members, engine bay, and frame in my '64 also had 'character' - in spades! ..
It's been said that Krylon is considerd more durable so that was used. The A-arms and frame were sprayed with Krylon semi-gloss 7798 using several spray coats of paint. The finished result using Krylon came out looking good.
The engine bay inner fender wells and firewall were sprayed out using SEM Trim Black. Good stuff, that SEM paint.
