What is the length of the balancer pulley bolt and what are the torque specs? 327 with 8" balancer.
Bolt is a 7/16" - 24 TPI (SAE fine thread)
Total bolt length (including head) is 2.550"
Bolt length under head is 2.25"
Flat washer thickness is .312"
Lock washer thickness is ~.040"
Total effective length (with washers installed) ~1.900"
Torque spec is 60 ft-lbs.

Thanks for all the info! I am assuming i can find a Grade 8 bolt that is 2.25...there is an old time hardware store in Dallas that has 100's of bins of every size grade 8 and 5 bolts.

betcha won't find the big *** washer. Why not just get a correct balancer bolt kit for the Chebby SB? The entire kit is $6 in zinc link, $12 in black link
