Default 1960 rear spring

With much encouragement from Firstgear, I have separated the body from frame on my 1960. I plan on the chassis work first. My car has rear springs with 2 leaves. Replacement srings from Paragon, and others are 4 or 5 leaf springs. This is an early 230 hp car (base) as far as I can tell. How many leaves should the springs have? I've seen listings for spring liners as well. Are they needed? My springs have relaxed to the point of rubbing holes in the trunk area, hence the body lift. What do i need to buy? thanks. Scott

The standard rear springs should be at least 4 leaf (5 leaf for heavy duty) as far as what came with the car originally. If you only have 2 leafs on yours, you most likely have some type of aftermarket replacement springs on there. Correct type 4 leaf replacement springs are readily available for under $250 for the pair. That would be the way to go if you want to keep the cars suspension stock. Pilot Dan
