Headlamp open properly
I am trying to find out why when I operate my headlight switch to flip the headlights up one side works fine. The other side doesn't open. I pop the hood reach in and screw the manual **** a couple turns and then the headlight switch will work. It then continues to work properly as i test it longer. Then days later it won't work again and I start the process all over again.

Sounds like the motor has a dead spot.
You may wish to pull the headlight motor, take it apart and clean it up, see if that helps.

I recently had the same problem with the left headlight assembly on my '66. Let is sit for awhile and it wouldn't open without messing with the little star wheel on the motor. I replaced the big drive gear and it works fine now. I could've flipped it 180*, but I decided to replace it. It's available through all of the usual mail order Vette suppliers.

thanks so much for the detailed picks and write up, I have ,as i am sure do many others,have the same problem.I can;t wait to tackle this project this winter while eliminating another minor but nusance headache
