Default Front Body sagging

I just noticed on our 63 that the passenger side nose is seeming to sag a little and the hood in the front corner is actually higher that the nose behind the headlight buckets. I think working with the front radiator frame I might be able to adjust it but I wanted to ask you all out there if you have experience and suggestions?

There are no height adjustments there. The body is bonded to the innerfender and the innerfender is bolted to the support. There are some shims under the support. You might be able to gain some height there, but it will not solve the relationship to the hood. You can go to the support on the side and redrill holes to raise one side, again not affecting the hood relationship. You should look at the headlight-end support and make sure the support rod to the bottom of the radiator support is installed. There should be shims under the hood hinge to lower the hood. That is the only place to adjust that relationship.

You can lower the hood at least 1/8 inch by modifying the hinges.

You can also lower the front edge of the hood slightly by shimming only under the rearmost hinge-to-body attachment - that tips the pivot point down and will lower the front edge of the hood.

What are you suggestions on modifying the hood hinge to get the 1/8 inch improvement? Are you talking adding a shim to the back lower hinge bolt or something else? Thanks!

Under the rear bolt. Tips the hinge forward and down.

If you are asking about the hinge mod in the picture:

To lower the hinges and remove the hood rattle of worn out hinge spring washers:

1 Obtain a small round file, (2) 0.25 diameter bolts, and (2) nylok nuts, (4) plastic flanged bushings used in c2 accelerator linkage between linkage rod and rubber grommet. The bushings have a 0.25inch inside diameter.

2 drill out the hinge pins with a drill the same diameter as the pin.

3 Use a small round file to enlarge the holes to accept plastic bushings while lowering the hole center in the bottom half of the hinge and raising the hole center in the top half of the hinge.

4 Install plastic bushings in both halves so the bushing flanges are against each other, trapped between the hinge halves.

5 Install the bolts through the bushings with the nylok nuts on the outside of the hinges and tighten just enough to remove all end play.

PS if that lowers the hood too much, put sheet metal shims (aluminum sheet/flashing) under the hinges.
