The 18" seven-bladed fan is correct for A/C, but I'm unsure which part number is correct. The 1978 Chasis & Body Parts Catalog Chevy Corvette 1953-1978 shows 1963-66 w/C.A.C. and 1966-68 (327) w/C.A.C.--------3931002. The 1965 Judging Guide gives Part# 3853943. The 1965 Assembly Instruction Manual (AIM) gives Part# 5853943. Looks like the Guide or the AIM has a typo. Maybe Part# 3853943/5853943 superseded Part# 3931002? Does someone know which part number is correct?

3853943 is correct - the 5853943 number in the A.I.M. is a typo.
The 1978 Catalog does show it's correct for my application. Have any idea if Part# 3853943 (not in Catalog) superseded Part# 3931002?
3853943 is the correct fan for your application - that's what was originally installed on it in production. The 3931002 was a supercessive part number released later for Service as a functional replacement when the supply of the 3943 fans was exhausted. In judging, the 1002 would get a minor deduction.
I actually won the 3931002 for $130!! I think I paid close to $300 on the one from Paragon. They were the only one making the 3853943 blades: they are no longer available. Confirmed this with Long Island Corvette. So, I guess I'll sell the Paragon one.
Correction to my previous post: Part#3931002 has to supersede Part# 3853943 because it is a higher number.
