Probably not, as most DMV's don't have records over ten years back, and many won't supply it if they have it due to privacy laws. Worth a shot, though.

I have similar situation. I have posted my VIN on Corvette Action Center and was wondering if its worth doing the same on Corvette Forum in all "C" categories. Anybody have good responses in finding previous owners on Corvette Forum ?

I had a flea-market purchase Pennsylvania PURPLE Antique plate that I would have liked to have gotten mounted (LEGALLY) on my '62, since the "new" Antique plate that Pa. has issued for the past 3 or 4 years is UGLY! (almost like the standard-issue plate except has a '20 Olds Roadster to the left of the digits. I took the purple plate to my local state representative's office & explained the situation. I was told for a non-refundable fee of $5-, the state would provide me with the name of the last owner of the plate (with the hope that I could contact the owner & get him/her to relinquish ownership). A few days later I received a phone call from the rep's office, saying that the plate had originally been issued for a 1941 Cadillac, BUT - due to PRIVACY laws - I could only obtain THAT info in case of "special circumstances"...like a "hit & run" I THOUGHT about making THAT claim, but decided that it would have been embarassing if contact was made...and the owner died 20 years ago
The GOOD news was: the state RETURNED my $5- check
The BETTER news was: a Cruise bud of mine who sold off his Cruise vehicles relinquished one of his "purples" to me, and it is now firmly affixed to my Vette (and I used it for a whole 113 miles this year. )
