I recently did mine however my goal was to replace the windshield seal along with polishing the exterior side trim. I recomend searching the archives for multiple opinions. I recomend the 63 AND 64 aim windshield section. The 64 has a bit more detail regarding sealing the side retainers. The shop manual gives good info too. 63 trim retainers are a one year only item. Absolutely no prying with screwdrivers. Paint sticks wood wedges and patience. Painters tape and padding below the moulding. Good Luck!

Its been awhile since i did mine so here goes...

With the door/doors open, look at the weatherstrip on the edge where the wind wing would seal, you need to remove that soft piece by picking it out of the channel it is in, "if that makes sense".
Behind that weatherstrip are 3 small phillips screws, remove them and that small channel about 8" long should come off, "it might be held on with some adhesive and behind that you will have access to some larger phillips screws...i beleive there are 3 total on that piece you want to remove..they should come right off with a little force. the part you will have to watch is where the small end laps over the lower trim that runs along the windshield, there is clip at that point of intersect/overlap...

I hope that helps...

Just take it sloooooww....those pieces are not cheap...use a 2" flexible putty knife to run along the edge of the weatherstrip...to release any adhesive or glues that someone might have put on there to seal for leaks...
Take lots of pics...it will help in many way when you re-assemble your car
Glad to help
Good luck
