What is the purpose of the frame dimple in the 64 frame located right before the rear wheel. On later C2 frames there are triangle shaped stiffeners welded in that area. As pics will show I have to repair the left side dimple area and wonder if I need to keep the dimple shape or just weld flat over the area.
I could ( and probably are ) wrong but I think this recess may be an area where the fuel and brake lines run vertically before the kickup part of the frame.

I just checked mine and the recess is not for the lines, as they go down the top of the frame and curl around the kick-up. Both sides have this recess and I looked at the "before" pics when we took the car apart and there is nothing in that recess that I can see.
Thanks for the help! I looked at the body on the dollie and sure enough the seat belt has a welded nut on the side that goes down in the dimple out area.
