Default Under the console........

I've been waiting until after the holidays to really get started on my 'winter projects' just in case Santa brought me any neat Corvette goodies.

Got a lot of neat stuff, including new carpet and a console repair kit, so I thought I'd start with the console -

Found this underneath -

Cleaned 'em up with a little silver polish -

The dimes are 1965, 1965, 1967 and 1969. The penny is from 1968.

Never know what you'll find!

Dave

Pretty cool Dave, I haven't found anything cool in my car yet. I think I won't with almost everything has been off or out of mine. I'm surprised you're changing out your carpet it looks pretty nice from the pics.. Dave

The only thing I find when working on my vette is more things that need to get done.

Thanks, Dave. Actually the carpet photographs a lot nicer than it looks. The fit around the console and sill plates isn't too good, and I have pieces coming up around the wheel wells in the rear.

That's one thing that's been holding me up - where do you draw the line for a car that isn't going to be judged? Small tears in the door panels, seat foam is shot, split seam on one of the seat covers, missing quarter panel trim................stop me when I get to 10K!?!

Dayum, Wayne - does that mean that it might not be a broken seat spring that's been poking me in the azz?????

It's amazing what you can find when you fool with these old cars - Great find!!

Nope he was a shrink at Dorthea Dix mental hospital. The car was level with junk. He threw his change at the console every day from fast foods joints.

The snakes were real and ALIVE. Not the benign variety either. Between the seatcovers and the foam.

I dont remember what happened to the pot. Dont remember the 60s either.

I bought a 62 409 Bel Air in 82 that had been sitting since 73. In the process of dissasembling it I found a pack of condoms taped to the underside of the passenger side of the dash. I guess the former owner was a Boy Scout, always prepared!

Before anyone asks, no I didn't try using them.
