Default '67 Ignition Switch Replacement

Doing a cluster restore motivated by bad amp gauge and flaky ignition switch (Engine would just die while I'd be toolin along and a quick flick of the starter - at 60 mph - and she'd fire right up again no problem).

Anyway, looked though the catalogs for a new ig switch and apparently there's no exact repro available that has the the little shrouded thingie for the the light bulb. I went ahead and ordered the "replacement" ig switch but now don't know what to do with the bulb/socket that formerly was stuck in the original switch.

Also - Have I missed something? Is there an exact replacement available?

Thanks. Ox in Beautiful Lovettsville, VA

"1967 Corvette Ignition Switch"
entered into Google yields the following as one of the search results:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/66-67...81110005r29943

Looks like it has the light 'shroud' to me !
Made from original GM tooling and only ten bucks more than those cr@ppy repros. Ten available.

Can't limit yourself to just catalogs when looking for hard-to-find parts...

These didn't become available until recently. It should be a good product. I thought about buying me one for a spare.

Thanks guys. Ordered that "correct" ig switch on ebay last night. I'll post again when I get this puppy and put it along side my original switch.

You don't, unless you find a locksmith who can pick it, or drill it out.
