About 50+% of the responses to his information requests are comments about his screen name. Besides the obvious problem, it seems very inefficient. I can't see his posts any longer because I didn't want the irritation, but I can see all the responses.

Likewise - he is on my 'ignore' list. Obviously wants attention so I choose not to provide it.
Do not chemical strip!! I had my first car chemically stripped and it had bubbles all over the place 3 years later. Most Vette shops remove the paint by scraper blade.
My experience is completely different. I used Captain Lee's Spray Strip on my 78 and also on my 63. Good stuff. Use it correctly and you won't have any problems. You also won't take any chance of gouging into the fiberglass. When you reach the factory primer you switch to scotch brite pads and Soft Scrub kitchen/bathroom cleaner. That and water takes you to bare glass. You don't remove any material and you don't make any nasty dust to breathe in. I would rather clean up some stuff off of the floor than inhale crap into my lungs. I would also like to see the razor blade make a clean sweep over the compound curves included in the door jambs of these vehicles.
As far as bubbles in the paint I don't care what product you use. If the surface isn't in proper condition when you apply the paint over it you will get imperfections in the finished product. My 78 was painted over 12 years ago and there are no bubbles or other imperfections in it. My 63 was painted about three years ago and it also is hanging in fine.
The attached photos show what you get when you finish with the scotch brite pads and Soft Scrub. That's my 78 in the background.
Out gassing from using chemical stripper, IMO, is from not using a TOP COAT stripper. Aircraft stripper is NOT the correct formula and WILL cause issues after painting, in most circumstances. I've been usinig strippers on Corvettes since I was 17 yrs old. Never had an issue.
NOTE: Do not use ANY stripper on bondo.
Having a body shop use chemical stripper is a shot in the dark. I would doubt that the shop would know the difference between strippers unless they are a Corvette shop. Hence, the horror stories.
Kind of back on the posters user name. I do hope he sees the respect we would like to show Zora Duntov and does change his user name. I think there have been enough posts about it, he would change it out of respect even for just us. Unless respecting Mr. Duntov or us, is not important to him.
The username only seems to bother a very small percentage of you. Don't know why, however I don't generally let a people in chatrooms tell me how to run my life. As I have respectfully said before (and will say for the last time), I obviously have a different perspective on the use of this name than some of you. For those who cannot respect my difference of opinion then please add me to your ignore list as not one of you have said anything even remotely related to Corvettes. Lets stop wasting each others time. I already known how a few of you feel. Live and let live gentlemen.........

I see your point and understand we are all free to do as we please. Would it not be easier to just modify your user name than to receive all the comments? I am also a little hard headed as some here will agree. But you are taking on a name that glorifies this hobby. That is not a smart thing to do unless you are able to back it up. Again, you have choices to make here, I am not bashing, just trying to help.

SO, have you learned anything of value from your original question in this thread? Or are you just being a

OK, point taken. You are right, I am being hard headed as I hate bowing into peer pressure however in the name of keeping the peace I will change it. Is is possible to change the current profile (I cannot find a way yet) or do I need to re-join?
