Default C2 Diff. front snubber bushing question

When installing the polygraphite diff. front snubber bushing on my 65, I found out two things: 1. The new parts don't look like the old ones. 2. The old ones don't look like they were properly installed to do the job.

Can anyone tell me what hardware goes with the snubber bushings, bolt diameter and length, order of installation of any washers with their inner and outer diameter, etc? Thanks.

The AIM would be great & I'll have to get one. But, I'm also concerned that the replacement polygraphite snubber looks different from the rubber ones.

I don't have the answers to all your questions, but maybe this will help. According to the drawing in my 1963 AIM, a large bolt goes down from above passing through 1) a flat washer, 2) a smaller cushion, 3) the frame crossmember, 4) a larger cushion, 5) the differential carrier bracket, 6) a large flat washer, 7) a smaller lock washer, and 8) a nut. The torque specified for the nut is 55-75 ft-lbs.

I've just received the same item and noticed almost the same thing on my 63. The new bushings look much larger than the ones on it right now. what I mean is it looks like the new ones are a larger diameter. It also looks like the bolt might be a little short but I was told it will fit and to place a transmission jack under it for leverage while tightening it down. Another thing is if you have the poly bushings, you have to use the sleeve from your old ones. Hope this helps.

Thanks. Mine is from Energy Suspension - but it did not come with any directions. My new bushings have a SMALLER outer diameter than the old rubber ones. I found a note in a Corvette parts supplier to re-use the existing shell from the old snubber. The shell from my old top bushing is a large washer with a tube (or sleeve) attached to it. This sleeve is too long for the new bushings. My bolt is plenty long, but the bolt diameter is much smaller than the holes in the washers, sleeve, and differential arm. Is this the wrong bolt?
