Default Slight rant

I sent my trailing arms and rear to Bair's to be
rebuilt. Got the call that they arrived today and
they explained what needed to be done to the
trailing arms all seemed ok. Then I got their rear
rebuilder on the phone to explain how my rear
arrived in a different box than it was sent in and
UPS had dropped it and broke the yoke off. I am
beginning to think I opened a can of worms with
this rebuild. It's costing more and more every day.
Well thats all for now, I hope I don't get any more
surprises. I guess I'll go have another beer and keep
cleaning and painting.

Hang in there. If it's any consolation, I've never received a box delivered by United Package Smashers that wasn't destroyed. Most of the time the contents survive but not always.

Call UPS and fill out a claim form. If they re-crated the rear end and damaged it they will have that information.

You're not alone. . .I swear every time I touch the car or fix one part, I find another that is in desperate need of repair. . .I'm actually almost afraid to touch it now. . .you could drive it a year ago. . .and now thousands upon thousands of dollars since. . .I'm still thousands and thousands of dollars from being able to drive it once again. . .and that isn't even doing a full resto. I'm beginning to thing it would have been cheaper and easier to restore / rebuild my wife. . .whoa, did I just say that!?!?!

I've already contacted UPS and so did Bair's. They apparently
told the driver that the rear was repackaged because it wasn't
in the box they had sent me to send the rear to them. So UPS
has taken responsibility but it is still a PITA.

I did the motor and front suspension last winter. The rear this
winter and I'm running out of money real quick. The last thing
I have to do will be the paint and that looks like it will have to
wait at least a year or two or until this housing market pics back
up so we can get back to making some real money.

When I received my rechromed bumpers for my '66, they were laying in my landscape mulch after being dropped by the UPS driver. Fortunately, they were well packaged and did not get scratched.

when I talked Brian about my concerns of handling my finished A arms during installation of ball joints his concerns were more directed on shipping damages to them then anything that could happen in there shop. All came out OK

I built a wooden crate for my center section when I swapped with Kensmith. I shipped him mine then he shipped his back to me. The crate was bulletproof. I would never ship a center section any other way.

If its any consolation, Bair's did a beautiful job on my trailing arms, you will love their work

There was an article a few weeks ago that asked 7 and 8 year-olds what the key to a happy marriage was....

One boy said, "Tell her she is pretty even though she looks like a dump truck."
