I purchased a new 66 dark blue carpet for the the 65. At first I thought they sent the black instead. I took it outside for a better look and it is dark blue. Man really dark blue! That's OK I like it. Question is, are the dash pads and other dark blue trim parts on a 66 just as dark as the carpet?
Thanks
The originals were almost black, a lot of the repo stuff is a little lighter. Last year I talked to a man who had just purchased a Laguna Blue/dark blue 66 coupe. He had the car for two days and still thought the interior was black. Seat belts in those interiors were either black or blue.

I bet it does look black in a coupe. When I laid the carpet in the vert it was very dark but definitely blue. I'm doing the carpet, dash pads and trim in dark blue and the seats and door panels in white. The car is dark metallic blue, in Avatar.

I have told this story before, but when I first went to look at my 66, I thought it had black interior. It was in a dimly lit warehouse and I took a ton of pictures inside, outside, under, you name it, but until I downloaded the pics at home that I noticed the flash lit up the blue interior. I felt pretty stupid. See pic below, the dash pads are original, as is the carpet, I think. Both are darker than the replacement seat covers and door panels, as you can see. I would like to find some good dark blue floormats. Joe

I,m jealous, I really wanted to go with the dark blue in my 65, and waffled between the 66 style covers and the 65. I finally decided on the original 65 style, with the original maroon because dark blue was not available in 65. I think either would look good with my new silver pearl exterior.

Dude, that's what I thought ! I looked at a couple of dark blue interiors and the seat belts and the console were black. John Z informed me that was not correct, that the seat belts and console should be dark blue as well. I, quite seriously, dunno.

Silver over maroon will will look great!
Yeah I like the 65 seats the best as well. I was considering C3 or C4 seats but they are just not in the budget. I already have white 65 covers and new seat foam. All I need now are the seat heaters and I'm ready to recover.
