Retainer

Does anyone know if a 63coup.has a retainer that goes on the windshield post (inside of column) it
shows one in the assembly manual (GM #3829416) I can't find any in the parts catalogs can I get away with out one and just lay in the weatherstripping? As always thanks :seeya

Corvette Central has the retainer, their #632212, $24.10 each, including screws.
