Why would you want a hot-rod gear-reduction starter for a Powerglide 327? Plain ordinary Delco starters work just fine.

i had one on my 62 after i installed the EFI; but i was having problems working the bugs out that caused the engine to 'grunt' (almost like a hydrostatic lock) while cranking that turned out to be an ignition problem. the starter was a tiny thing and worked fine for a little while, but it eventually lost the battle... i reckon it will work fine on a engine that has no starting problems..

I had a 350 in an '84 truck that got a bent con rod from your ordinary Delco starter. And some think they're weak.

Mid 90's chevy S10 starter for large flywheel. Or mid 90's corvette LT1 starter for small flywheel. Very simple. No need for expensive aftermarket starters. And if the starter dyes in the middle of nowhere you can buy one over the counter at any parts store.
Only thing is if your running a stock ing. system you will not have the 12V wire coming from the starter. I agree with the above statements. No need for a stock 327.

Summit sells them. Pn SUM820323-OS $176.95. It comes with a staggared mount so you can rotate the body to clear headers or stock pipes. Make sure you know how many teeth your flywheel has as this one is for use with a 168 tooth.
Good luck
