Does anyone know the Name and a source to purchase the special paint used inside avcastering? It is my knowledeg that this paint is used to reduce contamination by rust inside the casting.
I am taking my intake maifold to have it hot dipped and cleaned. I want to then paint/coat the inside walls of the casting to a correct light green presertative. On my car I would also like to have it as much as is possible so the next person can just start where I stopped.
I have seen Glyptal paint used on the inside of engine blocks, for better oil return to the pan, and prevent rusting. But this is a red paint. I have only seen it applied to race engines and some high end foreign engines.

I'm not familiar with coating the inside of the manifold, but Zinc Chromate is a light green primer for steel and aluminum protection. It is still available in aerosol from Skygeek.com. It is the same as used on various underbody steel reinforcements on AO Smith bodies.

There was never any preservative paint or coating of any kind either in or on any factory castings (other than the paint on the outside of the finished engine).
