I called a local parts store for spicer U joints they said
they had them so I went to get them and this is what
they had. Are they made by Spicer ot is that a cross reference
number? Also are all 6 u joints the same?

I know some people that build shafts for drag cars, truck pullers, and off road racers. When I reworked my drive & 1/2 shafts they told me to use Super Strength, Heavy-Duty High Performance Joints made by Federal-Mogul. This is a very heavy duty greaseable U joint, that is made in USA. The only thing is that you will need a press to put them, the caps are so hard that you need to be carefull puishing the caps on. Tommy
Those are interchange numbers. Federal Mogul and Neapco dont make U-Joints. There are only a few companies that make them.the rest are re-packagers by nearly whatever name the box says. And most of them will say HD {heavy duty} If a zerk is present dont believe the HD .they are the weakest. The strongest has tiny needle bearings and no zerk...The cheaper U-Joints are those with a zerk and large needles....
The Federal-Mogul that I am using, has a very small needle bearing and the grease fitting is in the cap and not in the cross. If you drive the car much, I like to flush the bearings out.

Wally:
Are you certain that Federal-Mogul doesn't make U-joints? The ones that I recently ordered from GM came in boxes that said "manufactured by Federal Mogul Corporation, USA. They had a GM part number, ACDelco Part Number, and Federal Mogul Part Number all on the box....but each box said manufacturered by Federal Mogul Corporation, Chicago, Illinois USA. The U-joints were boxed and drop shipped to me from FM Corporation in Chicago.
The part numbers are:
Half shafts: GM #89029305, ACDelco # 45U0123, and FM Precision#231. No zerk fittings.
Driveshaft: GM #89029327, ACDelco #45U0145, and FM Precision#269. No zerk fittings.
Most of the U.S. joints are made by Precision or AEC manufacturing Co.
There just packaged for FM. FM use to be a engine bearing mfg and just became a WD parts seller. They even have brakes accomplished by purchasing a couple of brake companies. Wagner and EIS. Thats what really almost killed FM because they purchased subject to any law suits. Guess what, asbestos is used in brakes and they got caught. FM`s stock a few years ago was $40.00 per share. Today its maybe $00.40 if lucky. I hav`nt checked lately....
Dont be afraid to use them, there good joints. Most if not all failures are caused by the person replacing them.. I have stocked and sold both as a WD.
That u-joint is for a 1310 yoke, probably your front drive shaft. The rear 4 u-joints should be 2-0053bf [1350 yoke]. The bf is for "Brute Force". It will also have red hi quality red silicone rubber seals. It is a very good qulity u-joint. They are the ones I use. The 4X4 guys use these and/or the equivalent Spicers. Greaseable u-joints are much weaker.
