Distributor Help 66 Big block ?
I have a 1966 Big Block that needs either a rebuilt Distributor or someone to rebuild the one I have. It is for a 66 Transistorized ignition, TI for a 427,390 HP A.I.R. california car. I believe the distributor part number is 1111142.
My bushings may be bad and I am looking for someone to rebuild the distributor at a reasonable amount or sell me another one. I would like to keep the car completely original, but I am not going to pay huge dollars. I think the pickup is ok, but when the vacuum advance is engaged the car runs like crap and backfires. In looking into it, it looks like the pickup gets crooked, as the plate shifts, due to bad bearings.
If anyone knows of someone that can do this in the Atlanta area or ship it to someone reasonable, please advise and thanks in advance for the help.
Open to all suggestions.

I cannot attest to his work yet but I'm getting ready to send our TI distributor to Mike Zamora at mike_zamora@hotmail.com
Mike is a NCRS master judge who owns I believe I read, two 66 big block cars. What I've seen picture wise shows great detail and knowledge of what is correct. And is also an authorized dealer for other components like the new T.I. amplifier and coils. Guess I will find out soon enough.
I found Mike on ebay and started emailing with questions. Here is an example of one of his dist. for sale and shows the detail of work.

The words "TI", "Corvette" and "reasonable" NEVER go together especially when you consider that should be a special 65-67 BB only housing with the partial lower groove which bring a premium. Changing the bushings is no big deal....I have a collection of 20 TI distributors, most of them restored and the rest are survivors. Generally it`s the lower bushing that goes bad and if it`s bad enough to wobble you might need a shaft so be prepared...you should also change the side gear as they should be replaced together, the gears are available but an original GM hi-perf mainshaft is going to be a pricey piece as will an original GM #360 vacuum advance. I believe Dave Fielder gets around $75 an hour and his website says about five hours labor as to the other guy my parents always told me "If you can`t say anything nice about someone don`t say anything at all"...so I won`t.
