Default FIRE ! A rude awakening

At 3:00 am this morning I awoke to popping, chaos, horns ..look out the window and the ghetto/rehab in progress house next door is a inferno!
I had no time to call 911 out the door in my pj's .
My covette has not moved in 5 months ,the battery cables disconnected etc..By now the fire whistle is going and I live right behind the Vol.fire dept. and firemen helping cleaning out my garage ,john deere ,kawasaki's and finally got the L78 fired up!!!

This is my driveway after i got my toys out of the garage and closed the door

My camera batterys took a crap but this is how the vette looked afterwards i had it parked down the street..rough morning

Too close for comfort. Almost looks like a natural gas explosion. Looks like a good reason to fire up the car to me

So is your garage burned down too or is it intact ?

Either way I am glad you and yours are safe......... just not sure about what you are saying.

fire and a break in are my two worries......we have a monitored alarm system and a dog, so between those I think we have it covered....but it still a worry. I am glad that you didn't loose anything more than some sleep...

FD did a good job in protecting the exposure. Kudos to those involved.

You're a lucky guy!
I was not so fortunate a couple of years ago in a shop fire .

A lesson from revupL78's close call: Make sure that your insurance policy is up-to-date and accurately reflects the value of your car. A '65 parked behind mine was under-insured and was totaled. Mine was not (believe it or not), and she (the Phoenix) is almost back from the ashes!

Wow! That is some scary stuff - and really cool photos too! Imagine the car's photo album, "Here's the day I bought it, here is when I got it fixed up, here is some great cruise, and here is the fire that almost destroyed it and my house..."

Happy that your home, family, and toys (last thing) are OK.
Yes, that was just too close but you have much to be thankful for.
