C1 Hardtop Quiz Question
I might be driving to pick up a hard top for my never ending 61 project.... does anyone know if it will fit in the back of a 2002 Tahoe? Or failing that, does anyone have the dimensions on hand?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Just took a quick look at my 62 top. In rough numbers, the top appears to be about 56" wide, 38" long and 23" high. I don't know if this helps any. In looking at it, I'd say that the width would be the deciding factor. If it fits between the wheelhouses, I think you'll be ok. The last time I moved mine, other than on the car, was in the back of my 71 El Camino and that was so long ago, I don't really remember how it fit. The widest point is across the bottom of the side window "b" pillars.

That reminds me of the time I was at a swap meet about 150 miles south of us and I found a hard top for mine and couldn't pass on it. Only had my Rabbit Diesel and ended up strapping it straddling the Rabbit roof and hog tying it on with lots of padding and rope I picked up at the local hardware store. Made it home in good shape but shure got a lot of strange looks on the way. In 30 years I've only had it on the car once! Are you sure you need it?

At Corvettes @ Carlisle, a few years back, I watched a guy tie a 58-61 one piece glass nose on the roof of a Saab!!! He had CT tags, I allways wondered if that nose made it to New England.

gbvette I think a hardtop is more like 50 some inches square I just sold a midyear to Ren here on the forum and that was 53 inches square and I boxed a C1 one time and as i recall it was pretty close to that.

Un-Mounted HardTops are a PITA! '08 was the FIRST year in 41 years of ownership that I didn't remove it from the '62 for Summer use...but - then again - I only had the Vette out 3 nights in a row in October and added 113 miles to the odometer IF you have to have a roof, the hard-top looks a lot better on than the soft-top does "up".

Maybe a better question is: Do you wanna sell yours? You are a lot closer than the trip I'm contemplating (3000 mile round trip).
But yeah, I think my car will end up being a hardtop only car for awhile.. Right now I have no top. I've always liked the look and the A/C should work a little better with a hard top when I'm toollin' around in 115 degree Vegas heat.
