Barrett Jackson WPB Auction thoughts

That being said auction prices were all over the lot. A very nice 68 Mustang went for $6K while a plain-Jane 1951 Chevy four door went for $8K !!!!
I go to R&M and Kruse auctions in FL and have concluded that If I was crazy enough to consign a car to any auction Company I would have to retarded to go with BJ. No reserve means no money for 2/3 of the consignments. You have no control over when it hits the runway or who will be there when it does. Unless your car is truly special (maybe 3% of the total consignments) more than likely your screwed. Cars on Thursday bring small $, Cars at the dinner hour bring zilch, rainy days are a bust and you've given up complete control of the pricing process. BJ sellers must have more money than brains or their gold chains have restricted blood flow to the head.
I do think that BJ auctions are really great entertainment and try hard not to miss this circus when it comes to town.
As an aside the new car display was dominated by the 2010 Ford Taurus and Buick (forget model but top of line). Both of these cars hit the ball big time making the other cars look old fashioned and dowdy. The Taurus especially overshadowed the Lincolns which are holdover styling.
Happy Easter to all
